Classique EDT launched in 1993, the original formula that started the Classique line, created by perfumer Jacques Cavallier. Jean Paul Gaultier himself described the inspiration behind it as one part dusty loose powder like his grandmother wore, one part the smell of sitting in the front row of a theatre as the curtain rises, and one part nail polish remover to keep it modern.
